Community

Whether participating in shooting sports as a hobby or as part of a shooting team, firearm safety is at the center of the Gaston Young Guns’ mission statement.  Educating the youth of today and supporting the community through education and training is the highest priority for the coaches, parents, and athletes.

Mission Statement

To keep the shooting sports alive through education and training of firearm safety, responsibility, respect and positive attitudes with the youth of today, while securing our shooting heritage for tomorrow.

  • Gun safety:  Hunting and target shooting are among the safest of all sports.  According to the National Safety Council, accidents involving firearms in the home have significantly decreased over the last 20 years.  Through education and training, parents and children can prevent firearms accidents in the home and ensure that this downward trend continues.
  • Education:  Gaston Young Guns sponsors free of charge FIRST Step courses in Shotgun and Rifle to area youth in 5th – 12th grade.  Checkout the link for upcoming courses offered each spring and fall.
  • Community Involvement:  From the Sniper Conference to PAWS Youth Day and the annual Wheelers Event to the Quail Forever and Community Night Out events, Gaston Young Guns athletes are involved throughout their local communities promoting firearm safety, responsibility, and respect.
